Please, I Neede Difinitive An answer to this question [genital herpes] [vaginal sex]

July 18th, 2010

Is this possible / probable:
A man contracts HPV or have with a woman. 1 year later he developed herpes or warts from the inside only (1.5 inch inside) of his ANUS.
Is this possible? Keep in mind that no human has ever near my anus.

Ive heard that warts can show in the anus, but herpes can also develop in the anus? (Even if no one has contacted me did)?

Im really scared now, because the mild discomfort that I felt since the discovery of the bumps 10 days ago has grown to moderate pain and a light-yellow liquid discharge.

I was afraid that I have warts somehow, but now with discharge and increasing pain, Im afraid it was herpes, but I really, really terrified.

Is a blood test that I can get me to test for herpes?

Reply:While you were there, did they run tests for common stds? If not you should get tested to be sure.

Reply:guy,

Congrats on your results! Yup things happen for a reason, im glad you learned a lot.

Good Luck

Reply:Just got back from the hospital (GI's weren't available for weeks) and she used a scope and said she saw nothing in there. I can still feel the tiny bumps inside my anus, but she said she saw absolutly nothing. Anyway, she reccomended hemeroid meds, even though she saw no hemeroid. I don't know what is causing this irritation, but thanks to you guys, I now know that it can't be herpes or warts since I've never had any warts or herpes sores at what would be the possible site of infection (i.e. my wiener zone). Anyways, after self-diagnosing myself with warts or herpes and now knowing that it was nothing, I just don't know what to say. I know SOOOOOOOOO much more about these viruses and safer sex in general. So perhaps I can become a much better person out of all of this, and even help educate others.

There is a certain stigma that is attached to STDs, and I now see that these stigmas are completely and flat-out wrong. I have also come to realize that the sexual education in the country is not nearly as comprehensive as it should be. I tried to absorb every word that I've ever heard in these classes, and yet I basically knew nothing about how condoms are not completely safe and how testing can be obtained. I will definitly stick around these boards so that I can offer my help and possible resources to others with concers.

Reply:Just want to make a correction to someone's earlier comment. Herpes does cause bumps. It's more like a bump from an ingrown hair than a bump like a wart. I have herpes. I was diagnosed about three years from the one and only outbreak I've ever had in my life. I thought it was an infected ingrown hair. I had no other symptoms. I went to my doc for my regular yearly checkup and she noticed it and did a culture on it. It came back positive for herpes. I have no clue who I got it from or when. I haven't been with many people and as far as I know and would think, they were all very clean guys. Anyway, just wanted to clear up that comment about herpes not causing bumps. They do. I know first hand. Good luck with finding out what it is.

Reply:The initial outbreak of HSV II will appear at the site of infection. After that, however, it can appear anywhere in the region that your underwear covers. The virus lays dormant for an indeterminate amount of time before resurfacing, if at all. Most people that have HSV II never know because they never have symptoms. Some have outbreaks regularly.

Warts from HPV will only initially appear at the site of infection. They don't just go away like a herpes sore, it takes time for them to go away if they do at all. They also don't have a discharge.

What you are describing could be a cyst and not a STI. The only way to know for sure is to have a doctor check it out. There is no need to be terrified, even if it is herpes, the virus isn't life threatening. I'm sure you are fine, but you should really have a doctor check you out.

Reply:there is test for Herpes (HSV-1 and HSV-2) if that is of your concern. But herpes is not going to cause only bumps. It will make you sick like with flu symptoms. I go to chat rooms with people with HSV and I hear them talking about how bad it is at first. What you describe doesn't sound like it. YOu just might want to check out with you gyn doctor or a proctologist if you are still concerned.
